Black Lives Matter
They matter. Black lives deserve Justice for the crimes committed against them. I don't say equal Justice because the word Justice by itself should always be known as equal. Too many innocents have died because of hate. Hate creates judgment, violence, and war.
To all my friends of color, I see your pain, and I am here for you. Sound the call, and I'll be there standing next to you, behind you, in front of you wherever you need me to support you in changing this world into a better one. To me, that will only happen through peace.
Please don't mistake my previous silence for inaction. People sometimes need time to process pain, and I do that through silence. If you see your friends not speaking out, I ask you to give them time, not to make up they are complicit.
I am a stand for peace. Through that commitment, I will never pick up a stone and throw it at someone or be apart of a group that does. I believe any change that violence creates, will only create more violence. That does not mean I won't be there next to you to take a blow, but I will never return one. I truly believe if we hurt them back, we become them. Change through love is what I want to be apart of.
I love you all.
"Violence as a way of achieving racial justice is both impractical and immoral. I am not unmindful of the fact that violence often brings about momentary results. Nations have frequently won their independence in battle. But in spite of temporary victories, violence never brings permanent peace." -Martin Luther King, Jr.
"There is a higher court than courts of justice, and that is the court of conscience. It supersedes all other courts." -Mahatma Gandhi
